Bharat PetroResources needs 24 consultants

Vol 23, PW 11 (09 Apr 20) News in Brief

Not only is HPCL on a recruitment drive, so is Bharat PetroResources, the upstream subsidiary of up-for-sale Mumbai-based refiner Bharat Petroleum.

BPRL issued a recruitment notice on March 26, two days after India's lockdown began on March 24, for up to 24 consultants needed on two-year assignments. "It is surprising to see this notice at such a time," says an industry source.

"Most companies are going through a difficult phase and planning to declare Force Majeure. So it's good to see BPRL wants to recruit people."

BPRL is looking for geoscientists, petrophysicists, mud engineers, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, production and completions engineers, facilities planning, design and costing engineers and HSE engineers. On a scale of 100, BPRL has allotted 20 marks for academic qualifications, 40 for experience and another 40 marks for the interview.

Anyone interested has until April 15 to apply. All the positions require a minimum of 10 years experience and will come with a daily freelance fee of Rs10,000/day ($132).

BPRL wants to post the selected consultants at any of its blocks in the Cambay basin, Cauvery basin, Brazil, Mozambique, Indonesia or Russia. In May (2019), BPRL issued a similar notice to fill 15 roles.
