BPRL scouts for Brazil-Singapore heads

Vol 22, PW 11 (21 Mar 19) News in Brief

Anybody interested in seeing Brazil's famous Christ the Redeemer statue up close or trying fine dining in Singapore might be interested in two top positions at Bharat PetroResources (BPRL).

State-owned refiner BPCL's upstream subsidiary is expected to hold interviews next month (April) to replace general director S. Ramesh in Rio de Janeiro at its Brazil joint venture with Videocon - IBV Brasil Petroleo Limitada (IBV).

Also vacant is the newly created CEO post at BPRL International Singapore, for which the CV application deadline was March 15 just like for the Brazil job. In Brazil BPRL needs someone with a minimum 20 years experience in engineering, commercial and administrative areas with exposure to management law or finance.

Whoever wins should also be willing to learn Portuguese. IBV holds stakes at six deepwater blocks: SEAL-M-349, SEAL-M-426, SEAL-M-497 in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin; C-M-101 in the Campos Basin; and POT-M-663 and POT-M-760 in the Potiguar Basin.

For Singapore, BPRL wants a chartered accountant/cost accountant/MBA; or an engineer preferably with an MBA. Whoever wins must be willing to learn Russian.

From Singapore he or she will manage stakes in Russian companies Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha and Vankorneft.
