ONGC onland rig deadline on 8th May

Vol 10, PW 26 (03 May 07) News in Brief

Anyone interested in ONGC’s tender for five onland rigs must submit technical and price bids by (Tuesday) 8th May – the new deadline for a tender first issued on 8th December last year.

ONGC is offering an all-inclusive or â€کintegrated’ contract to include mud and cementing services, plus directional drilling options. Contractors must ensure bids are valid for 120 days.

After the pre-bid on 23rd January bidders complained of ONGC delay in releasing the minutes, which were made available only on 17th April. “It is not a simple tender,â€‌ says a source.

“An â€کintegrated’ tender like this is like three or more tenders in one, it is bound to take time.â€‌ Among those interested are: John Energy, Essar, Dalma Energy, Varun Industries, Jindal Drilling, Aban Loyd, Saipem, Quipco Oilfield Services, MB Petroleum, Weatherford and Precision Drilling.

ONGC wants two rigs at Ankleshwar, another two in Ahmedabad and one for the unexplored frontier basins of Jammu and Himachal Pradesh.
