Vizia Saradhi to be director HR at HPCL

Vizia Saradhi is all set to take over as director human resources at refiner Hindustan Petroleum following the appointment of Arun Balakrishnan as CMD. Balakrishnan was HPCL’s director HR until his promotion to the top job on 1st April.

PETROWATCH learns 55-year old Saradhi emerged first choice following interviews at the Public Enterprises Selection Board in Delhi on 25th and 26th April. S.

Mohan of sister Mumbai refiner Bharat Petroleum came second. Born on 19th July 1952, Saradhi is presently executive director industrial relations at HPCL and is based in Mumbai.

For many people his imminent confirmation as Director HR comes as a surprise. Most expected SP Chaudhry, executive director retail at HPCL, to get the job.

Thirteen candidates were short listed for interview by the PESB: eight from HPCL (of them six executive directors); one from BPCL and four from GAIL, including R. Suresh, who also applied for GAIL’s director marketing post.
