Gautam Sen tipped to replace Atul Chandra at OVL

Gautam Sen, executive director of ONGCs management academy at Dehra Dun, has emerged as the hot favourite to replace Atul Chandra as managing director of ONGC Videsh when he retires on 31st March 2004.

Twenty-three candidates applied for the job. Seventeen appeared for interview on 23rd January in Delhi, four others were scheduled to appear on 27th January and two have dropped out.

PK Agarwal, an ED at Engineers India is the second favourite, followed by Rajeev Khanna, an ED at GAIL. Others who appeared before the Public Enterprises Selection Board include: PK Johri, group general manager, joint ventures, ONGC; A Mahalanobis, GGM, Technical Services, ONGC; MK Panwar, head ONGCs Uran plant; NK Mitra GGM, Surface Management, Mumbai High; SR Athavale, GGM Drilling Services and AT Kali, GGM deepwater multi disciplinary team.
