GSPC needs MSV for DD West

Vol 17, PW 12 (30 Jan 14) News in Brief

GSPC wants to hire a Multipurpose Support Vessel (MSV) to provide services to its Deen Dayal West (DDW) offshore facilities.

GSPC invited EoIs on January 25 from MSV suppliers, with responses due by March 5. Companies likely to bid include five Mumbai-based firms: Dolphin Offshore, Great Offshore, HAL Offshore, TAG Offshore and Hind Offshore.

GSPC wants the MSV to be mobilised at DDW by January 2015 on a five-year contract. Current MSV rates are between $80,000 and $90,000/day, say contractors.

"We'll take about a month to evaluate technical bids,” says a GSPC source. “Then we'll ask shortlisted bidders to submit price bids.

” The MSV will be used for subsea intervention, inspection of the Process Cum Living Quarters, underwater pipeline repair, topside inspection and to provide diving support. GSPC (80%) shares shallow water block KG-OSN-2001/3 with estranged partner GeoGlobal Resources (10%) and Jubilant Energy (10%).
