Search begins for GAIL director projects

The PESB has set a firm October 14 deadline for candidates to apply for the post of director projects at monopoly gas transmission company GAIL - almost eight months before the June 30 retirement date of current director projects Santosh Kumar Bajpai.

The post, responsible for planning and executing the company’s projects, was advertised on August 12 while a notice was also circulated to state-owned companies and government ministries. First to apply on August 26 was KB Verma, chief general manager of human resources at National Fertilisers.

Closely being watched we hear, are applications from the private sector – who qualify if they hold board and/or management experience from bourse listed firms with more than Rs100cr ($23m) turnover. Candidates from GAIL expected to apply by September 25 are RD Goyal, executive director (projects), Ashutosh Karnatak, general manager (projects) and S.
