Interviews begin to select new MD at Petronet-LNG

Interviews have begun to shortlist candidates to succeed Suresh Mathur when he retires on 31st July as managing director of Petronet-LNG.

PETROWATCH learns recruitment consultant AF Ferguson began interviews on (Thursday) 14th July and hopes to complete the process by 22nd July when it will inform the search committee of its decision. Search committee head and former oil secretary Ashok Chandra will interview each of the shortlisted candidates.

These will be the final interviews, reveals a source. The selected candidate must be approved by the board of Petronet-LNG.

Among those in the race are GAIL directors JK Jain, BS Negi; Petronet-LNG director P Dasgupta; Indian Oil directors AM Uplenchwar and PK Aggarwal; GAIL executive director Rajeev Khanna; former DGH boss Avinash Chandra; MRPL president CM Lamba and former IOC chairman MS Ramachandran.
