Reliance Industries boss Mukesh Ambani held a closed-door meeting last week with Ajay Tyagi, secretary to the newly set up Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.

No aides were present from either side during the 45-minute meeting at 3pm on (Thursday) 1st February at Tyagi’s office in the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell in Delhi and no details are available of what was discussed. PETROWATCH learns, however, that Ambani outlined Reliance’s plans to set up CGD networks in 100 cities.

Also discussed were the tariff, bidding process and other details of the recently announced gas pipeline and CGD policy. Efforts are underway at the oil ministry to appoint the chairman and members of the regulatory board.

Earlier the same day, Ambani called on new power secretary Anil Razdan who took over from RV Shahi when he retired on 31st January. Before his present job, Razdan was special secretary in the oil ministry.
