LPG legalised as fuel for cars

India has finally legalised the use of LPG as a fuel for cars under the terms of an amended ' Motor Vehicles Act'.

A notification dated 24th April has been published in the official 'Gazette', which records changes and additions to government policy. It lists four authorised testing agencies that can issue 'Type Approval' certificates for LPG conversion kits designed for cars running on diesel and petrol.
