Remember the high-profile launch of the Mumbai High South redevelopment project by oil minister Ram Naik on 29th October Well, PETROWATCH learns ONGC has tasted success in the first two inaugural wells that Naik spudded that day on platform S1-6.

6H reached target depth of 2,540 metres end-December. Both flowed oil, to much rejoicing among the drillers, and have been put on production early January onwards.

What are the flow rates 5H is flowing 2,500 barrels a day while 6H is flowing 1,500 b/d through a 5/8-inch choke. "These are very good flow rates," we are told.
