Frack and acid plan at GSPC
GSPC has shortlisted four wells in the producing onland CB-ONN-2000/1 and CB-ON/2 blocks that it wants to frack and carry out acid jobs to increase oil and gas production.
Interested companies must bid by December 5 (2023), extended from November 21 (2023), for the call-out contract where GSPC can call on contractors when needed. Wells targeted for the fracking and acid jobs are PK#1-ST in CB-ONN-2000/1 and TA6#A1, TO#1 and TA6#A7 in CB-ON/2.
According to a 98-page tender, discovery well PK#1 was the first exploration well in the Ingoli field in the 57.05-sq km NELP-II block CB-ONN-2000/1. "But after cumulative oil production of 55,549 barrels, a fishing issue arose, and the well became sick," says the tender.
In January 2018, the well was side-tracked as well PK#1-ST and shut in to observe the build-up of hydrocarbons in the well bore. GSPC observed the well bore gradually filling with hydrocarbon fluid up to the wellhead (surface) but not flowing independently.
"GSPC wants to frack this well to improve the daily production potential," we hear. At the pre-NELP block CB-ON/2, well Tarapur-6 (TA-6) was one of the exploration phase discovery wells further appraised by drilling seven appraisal wells.
In the past, GSPC successfully fracked five wells, which produced independently for over two years. When they stopped flowing, GSPC installed Sucker Rod Pumps (SRPs) in four wells: TA6-A2, TA6-A3, TA6-A4, TA6-A6.
But a fifth well, T-6, continued producing on its own. GSPC now wants to frack wells TA6#A1 and TA6#A7 and carry out acid jobs at TO#1 and TA6#A7.
Well TA6#A1 produces an average of 2.2 b/d (0.3597 cm/d) with 13% water and 356 cm/d of gas. In this well, GSPC wants the contractor to study and recommend a suitable perforation interval in a 10-metre pay sand from 1633-1643 metres.
