P-LNG dir. tech interviews in May

Vol 23, PW 11 (09 Apr 20) News in Brief

Petronet-LNG is again shortlisting candidates for the post of director technical after it scrapped the last selection round over anonymous complaints against first choice Anil Joshi, GSPC LNG president (projects).

This time Petronet-LNG received 37 applications by the February 27 deadline from candidates interested in replacing Rajender Singh, who stepped down on July 19 (2019). "HR is shortlisting candidates," says a source.

"Approximately 15 applicants will be selected for interviews." Petronet-LNG expects to carry out the interviews in May, "after the lockdown ends."

Among those who have applied are APGDC managing director Raman Chadha, IndianOil executive director Pramod Narang, GAIL Gas chief general manager KK Jain, and GAIL executive directors Goutam Prasad and VK Someswarudu. Whoever wins will have overall charge of operations at the Dahej and Kochi LNG terminals.

Petronet-LNG first advertised for the position on February 7, which carries an annual salary of approximately Rs65.41 lakhs ($91,600). Anyone interested should be aged between 48 and 57 on January 14 (2020) and hold a full-time engineering degree (in any field) with a minimum of 60% marks.

Petronet-LNG received more than 80 applications in the last selection round in January 2019 but later scrapped the process because of controversy around Joshi.
