Flood of offers to replace Tag vessels with ONGC

ONGC is pleased with the response received from companies bidding to replace eight vessels hired from blacklisted Mumbai-based TAG Offshore.

ONGC has banned Tag from all contracts for two years to July 12, 2020 for allegedly failing to mobilise vessels and making misleading statements in ONGC tenders. On May 9, ONGC received offers to replace four anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTSVs) each of 80-tonne bollard pull capacity; two platform supply vessels (PSVs) each of 3000-deadweight tonnes; and two offshore supply vessels (OSVs) for three years each.

Fifteen vessels were offered in the AHTSV category - ten of which are Indian-flagged. Glory Ship Management offered Shubhaprada (India-flagged, 2007-built); Greatship offered Greatship Aditi (India-flagged, 2009-built) in both the AHTSV and OSV categories; Hind Offshore offered four vessels in the AHTSV and OSV categories: Hull ESS120112, Hull ESS110108, DN 66M 10 and 11, all under-construction in China; Sadhav Shipping offered Komulan (Liberia-flagged, 2010-built) in only the AHTSV category; Shipping Corporation of India offered 2011-built SCI Pawan and SCI PANNA, 2012-built SCI MUKTA and SCI Ahimsa and 2013-built SCI Urja as AHTSVs, all India-flagged, and PANNA was offered in the OSV category too; Samson Maritime offered Ocean Garnet (India-flagged, 1982-built) in the AHTSV and OSV categories; SS Offshore offered Sagar Pride (India-flagged, 2006-built) as an AHTSV and OSV; and Priyablue Shipping offered Priya 23 (India-flagged, 2007-built) in the AHTSV and OSV categories.
