Vessels aplenty for ONGC in 5-boat tender

ONGC is spoilt for choice in its tender to rehire or replace five Anchor Handling Tug/Supply Vessels (AHTSVs) for five years.

By the extended October 10 deadline bids were received from 10 companies with 32 vessels on offer. For the two 150-tonne vessels needed ONGC received bids from six companies offering 15 vessels.

Raj Shipping offered one; Hind Offshore had three available but submitted bid bonds for two; Ocean Sparkle offered one; Vision Projects Technologies had six available but gave bid bonds for two; TAG Offshore had three available but gave bid bonds for two; and Greatship offered one. For the three 80-tonne vessels needed ONGC received offers for 17 vessels.

PFS Shipping offered two; Vroon Offshore offered three; Prince Marine offered three under-construction vessels; TAG Offshore offered three but gave bid bonds for two; Vision offered three; and Shipping Corporation of India offered three. ONGC's present three-year contracts for Greatship, TAG and PFS vessels end between November 2016 and February 2017.
