As Reliance prepares subsea installation

Vol 21, PW 1 (05 Oct 17) News in Brief

Reliance has completed evaluation of revised price bids for the installation, hook-up and commissioning of subsea equipment needed for development of the R-Series, Satellite and other Satellite fields at KG-DWN-98/3.

Industry sources tell us Reliance received revised bids mid-September from Saipem, McDermott and Technip-FMC with Subsea7 and that the winner is likely to be chosen this month (October). Whoever wins will have to install, hook-up and commission a subsea production system, umbilicals, risers and flowlines during an assignment expected to last around 18 months, working closely with equipment suppliers Schlumberger subsidiary OneSubsea, Technip-FMC, GE Oil & Gas, Welspun and others.

OneSubsea won the $225m contract to supply and commission the subsea production system on July 25 while Technip-FMC won an estimated $170m contract on August 4 to supply and commission the umbilicals. Also in September, Reliance awarded a subsea pipe supply contract to Welspun and contracts for casing and a wellhead to GE Oil & Gas.
