Oil India needs drilling consultant

Oil India will receive EoIs by June 20 from consultants interested in managing its first ever offshore drilling campaign at Cauvery block CY-OSN-2009/2.

UK-based Firstdrill and RPS Energy, plus an unidentified Abu Dhabi-based firm are believed to be interested. Oil India (50%) is finalising drilling locations at the 1621-sq km NELP-VIII block with ONGC (50%).

First drilling is slated for August 2015 in water depths of 400 to 900 metres. Each well will be drilled to 5800 metres TD.

By September, Oil India plans to issue a limited tender for a drillship or semi-submersible after receiving EoIs on November 29 last year for a three-well campaign from Noble Drilling and Delhi-based Deepwater Drilling offering Noble Homer Ferrington; Transocean offering MG Hulme Jr. and GSF Rig 140; Diamond Offshore offering Ocean Quest; Atwood Oceanics offering Atwood Falcon and Atwood Hunter and Essar offering Essar Wildcat.
