Dharmendra Pradhan will be visiting the prime minister’s home state soon to study its energy infrastructure.

Pradhan, 45, was invited by Gujarat energy minister Saurabh Patel in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plan to send all his ministers to Gujarat to study the hyped up ‘Gujarat model.’ “We've invited Pradhan,” confirms Gujarat energy secretary DJ Pandian.

“We’re waiting to know when his visit is scheduled.” Pradhan will be shown Gujarat's high density gas grid.

“It will be interesting to see how Pradhan reacts to some of the biggest city gas projects in the country,” says a GSPC source. “He comes from Orissa where they still think pipelines are only for transporting water!” Pradhan will attend presentations on Gujarat's LNG terminals at Hazira and Dahej and three large refineries belonging to IndianOil, Essar and Reliance.

He will also visit the Pandit Deen Dayal Petroleum University (PDPU).
