RK Goel denied a job at PNGRB

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has rejected RK Goel's selection as PNGRB member distribution.

Former GAIL director finance Goel's name was sent to the ACC on June 4 after oil minister Veerappa Moily gave in-principle approval. A ministry source says Goel was rejected because of a 'conflict of interest' when he failed to disclose he'd joined Reliance after leaving GAIL.

Ministry officials will ask the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) what to do next as the selection panel’s decision should have been scrapped in June 2013 when the PESB’s one-year timeframe to appoint Goel ran out. “We're asking the DoPT if we should advertise the post again or send other names chosen by the selection committee,” says a source.

Former ministry advisor Dr. BB Mohanty ranked second and former labour ministry additional secretary Sharda Prasad ranked third.
