Srivastava is new director gas policy

Nikunj Kumar Srivastava (left) has joined the oil ministry as its new director gas policy, his first job in central government.

On June 5, Srivastava, 40, replaced Sushma Rath who replaced Partha Das as director distribution. Das was also re-assigned on June 5 to the director supply and pricing position.

Srivastava holds a post-graduate degree in mechanical engineering and joined the IAS from Madhya Pradesh in 1998. He can expect to stay in the oil ministry for five years.

Elsewhere, Rajesh Kumar Singh is likely to join the oil ministry as joint secretary refineries, replacing LN Gupta who moved out on June 5 to the Oil Industry Development Board after completing five years in central government. Singh, 49, joined the IAS from Kerala in 1989 and has been a joint secretary since July 9, 2012 in the ministry of information & broadcasting.

He can stay in Delhi till July 8, 2017
