ONGC FPSO tender

Vol 15, PW 10 (17 Nov 11) News in Brief

Expect strong attendance at a pre-bid scheduled tomorrow (November 18) in Mumbai for ONGC’s tender to hire a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit at the Cluster 7 marginal fields.

PETROWATCH learns ONGC sold tender documents to 31 companies by November 3 and wants to receive bids by December 19. An analyst attributes the rush of bidders to the nine-year contract on offer, which can be further extended by another seven years.

Among the companies who bought tender documents are Pipavav Shipyard, Solar Turbines, Rubicon Offshore International, Bumi Armada Offshore, Hind Offshore, Samsung Engineering, Aban Singapore, PFS Shipping India, ABG Shipyard, Megha Engineering & Infrastructure, Shipping Corporation of India, Mercator FPSO, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Pratibha Shipping Company, HAL Offshore and Tata Projects. Cluster 7 consists of offshore Mumbai fields B-192, WO-24 and B-45.
