Australia wants DGH help in organising roadshow

Vol 9, PW 10 (25 Aug 05) News in Brief

Who would have thought that a first world nation like Australia would ask a third world nation like India for help in organising an exploration roadshow Earlier this month the Australian High Commission in Delhi sent a letter to joint secretary exploration Sunjoy Joshi seeking DGH assistance to hold the roadshows in India on 19th and 20th September.

Australia was apparently so impressed by the way the DGH organised NELP-V roadshows earlier this year in Perth, where 40 companies attended, that it wants to use the same format for its first roadshow in India. We received a lot of praise for the way we organised our roadshows, reveals a DGH source.

We are trying to work out what kind of assistance they need from us. Separately, we learn the DGH is signing an oil and gas services MoU with Britains Department of Trade and Industry on 8th September to coincide with the visit of UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
