Petronet-LNG directors formally approved the construction of a second jetty at the 5m t/y Dahej LNG terminal, at a board meeting on March 7.

“We will issue a tender any day now,â€‌ says a Petronet-LNG source. “Our consultant feels there can be multiple options on how to construct the jetty depending on the engineering detailing, so we want bidders to quote for three options that we will set out in the bid document.

â€‌ All three options are related to construction of the jetty. Petronet-LNG expects the new jetty to cost between $130m and $160m.

“We would like to award the contract by June 30 but realistically September 30 looks much more likely.â€‌ Meanwhile on location at Dahej work is on schedule to double regassification capacity to 10m t/y by July.

“Mechanical completion will happen by July,â€‌ we hear. “August will be occupied by the performance test and handing over formalities.

Commercial throughput (of 10m t/y R-LNG) can begin from September.â€‌
