Surge of interest as 31 apply for OVL director finance

Competition to fill the vacant director finance post at ONGC Videsh is intensifying.

By February 18, another 31 candidates had joined the earlier five reported in our last issue, where we mistakenly said the post was generating no interest! Explaining the sudden surge of interest, a source explains: “Candidates send in their CVs immediately, but their companies take their own sweet time in forwarding them to the PESB. Each application must also come with a â€کreport card’ for the past three years, and this takes time to prepare.

â€‌ ONGC has forwarded an impressive list of 13, the highest number: Kanchan Kumar, group general manager finance at the western offshore basin in Mumbai; AK Srinivasan and his colleague AK Banerjee, both general managers finance in Mumbai; Upendra Goyal and JB Bansal, both general managers finance in Delhi; S Jayaseelan, general manager finance at Nazira; AK Ratilal Patel, general manager finance in Ahmedabad; Devendra Kumar Agarwal, general manager in Kolkata; Sat Pal Singh Garg, general manager and ONGC company secretary, based in Delhi; Vivekanand, deputy general manager finance in Delhi; Parveen Sahu, deputy general manager finance at the Mumbai High Asset in Mumbai; J. Vijay Kumar, chief manager finance at Agartala; Subhash Kumar, chief manager finance at OVL’s Colombia office in South America.

Hindustan Petroleum sent six CVs, the second highest number: Vikram Gulati, deputy general manager; three chief managers, K. Shankar Murty, RK Mohal and Rakesh Mahajan; senior manager Anit Guha Thakurta; and Rakesh Kumar, general manager.

IOC sent five CVs: Rajeev Khanna and G. Raghuraman, both deputy general managers; RK Gupta, chief finance manager; SK Gupta and BK Mathur, both senior finance managers.

Two general managers from Bharat Petroleum also applied: P. Balasubramanian and RP Natekar.

Engineers India sent in the CVs of Narendra Kumar Gulati and Amrit Lal. “Expect a few more CVs from BPCL,â€‌ we hear.

“One or two also from Oil India. My friends there tell me they will be applying.
