Valentine Day interviews for MRPL
February 14 is a day when most people would rather think of red roses and wine given that it is Valentine’s Day.
But romance is probably the last thing that will be on the minds of candidates competing to become the next MD of ONGC-subsidiary MRPL. We hear the PESB has fixed February 14 and 15 for interviews to find someone to replace present MD R.
Rajamani, who steps down in September. “PESB had to assign two days because there are 33 candidates,†says a source.
“Sixteen will appear on the first day and the remaining 17 will be called the next day.†On the interview panel will be PESB chairman NK Sinha, former oil secretary and permanent member of PESB Naresh Narad, and oil secretary MS Srinivasan.
As chairman of MRPL, ONGC chairman RS Sharma will be present as an observer. As before, industry observers believe the choice will narrow down to either LK Gupta, director finance at MRPL, or C.
