GAIL to get new Chief Vigilance Officer

Power joint secretary Arvind Jadhav is tipped to become the new Chief Vigilance Officer at GAIL.

At the power ministry, Jadhav looks after the distribution sector and was closely involved with the government’s Accelerated Power Development Reform Programme. “GAIL does not have a full time CVO as of now,â€‌ says a source.

“Neena Kumar who is the CVO of Oil India is currently holding the additional charge at GAIL.â€‌ Another source at the Department of Personnel and Training said: “CVO’s are appointed by the ACC (Appointments Committee of Cabinet).

We circulated the vacancies for CVO and Mr. Jadhav offered his name.

He has been recommended but a final decision is yet to be taken.â€‌ Jadhav also took over additional charge as the chairman of state owned Power Finance Corporation for four months from 8th February 2005 till 8th May 2005 before VK Garg formally took charge.

Jadhav joined the Indian Administrative Service from Karnataka in 1978.
