TABLE: MRBC BREAKDOWN JUNE-OCT, 1999

Vol 2, PW 23 (09 Dec 98) Exploration & Production

Petrowatch has obtained the following internal ONGC table of crude oil production figures from oilfields under the control of the Mumbai Regional Business Centre (MRBC).

The figures are recorded in tonnes and exclude production from the Panna and Mukta oilfields, operated by Enron. At Neelam, the figures indicate that production is declining, despite ONGCs claim that it has stopped the decline by using a "Multi Disciplinary Approach", proposed by McKinsey. It also shows that production at the B-173A oilfield has been doubling every month since production came on stream in August, raising fears that ONGC is once more "flogging" to maximise production.
