Vol 3, PW 3 (03 Mar 99) News in Brief

On 17 February, Indias Minister of State for Petroleum, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, officially commissioned Indian Oil Corporations (IOCs) 498-km crude oil pipeline from the West Bengal port of Haldia to its 3.3m t/y refinery at Barauni in northern Bihar.

The pipeline is designed to reduce dependence on Baraunis crude supplies from the troubled north-east supplied by Oil India.
