L&T wins gas conservation mandate at Heera

Larsen & Toubro of India has won a Rs176cr ($40m) offshore compression project order from ONGC.

Aim of the project is to conserve 879,000m cubic metres of gas a day at the Heera oilfield, which is being flared. The project is made up of additional compression facilities at Heera as well as a major control systems upgrade.

L&T will sub-contract the work to Kawasaki, Solar Turbines and Fisher Controls. L&T's Hazira factory will manufacture a self-contained compression module of 1.2m cm/d capacity at Heera.

Operating processes on three Heera platforms - HRC, HRG and WIH - will be upgraded with a state-of-the-art electronic control system.
