India has 5.386 trillion cubic metres of recoverable gas

How much recoverable gas is there in India On 9th March, junior oil minister Santosh Gangwar told parliament that the estimated balance recoverable reserves of natural gas in India on 1st April 2000 was approximately 5,386bn cubic metres (5.386 trillion cubic metres).

Gangwar said average production of natural gas between April 2000 and January 2001 was 81m cm/d. He said that after providing for internal consumption and flaring, supplies were made to various sectors as follows: Sector Quantity Fertilizer 23.5m cm/d Power 24.5m cm/d Sponge Iron 3.6m cm/d Other industries 10.7m cm/d Total: 62.3m cm/d
