Chinese want to build power plants in India

First India was grappling with the Chinese invasion in fast moving consumer goods.

Now, the Chinese have evinced keen interest in constructing power plants in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Chinese public sector major China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation has sent a proposal to Gujarat authorities with interest in constructing "fossil-based" power plants of between 300-600-MW.

It has sent a similar proposal to authorities in Madhya Pradesh. Gujarat is interested, but a senior official has advised the Chinese to approach Delhi for clearance.

Petrowatch learns three meetings have taken place between the Chinese and Gujarat government officials.
