NELP-III foreplay at Singapore attracts 23 companies

Vol 6, PW 5 (08 May 02) News in Brief

If the number of visitors is any indication, then the oil ministry can claim that NELP-III is attracting much interest.

On 12th and 13th April the oil ministry and DGH held a 'teaser roadshow' for NELP-III in Singapore at the SEAPEX conference. DGH boss Avinash Chandra held forth on the prospectivity of Indian basins, while 23 companies paid attention.

But only 11 companies viewed the basin dockets: BHP Billiton, Brunei Shell Petroleum, Eni-Lasmo Indonesia, Exxon Mobil, Genting Oil & Gas, Korea National Oil Company, Newfield, Premier Oil, PetroVietnam, Philips Petroleum and Woodside Petroleum. The 'real' Singapore roadshow will be held on 27th and 28th May.

Expect the entire top brass of Shastri Bhawan to be there.
