Joshi increases Dholka production to 600 b/d

Vol 9, PW 26 (20 Apr 06) News in Brief

US-based Joshi Technologies has increased production at its Dholka field in Gujarat.

Over the last month Dholka near Ahmedabad is producing 100 b/d extra to add to the 350 b/d it has produced till now. Dholka is producing 450 b/d of net saleable oil from 20 producing wells, a source tells us.

Were seeing good potential from well logs of another well and this should add 150 b/d more bringing total production to 600 b/d. Joshi is carrying out a three-well development programme at Dholka, where it is operator with 100%.

The second well is ready for perforation, we hear. It is showing very good potential.

Joshi is hoping for similar luck at its Wavel field near Gandhinagar, which is producing 60 b/d and where it is also operator with 100%. On 17th April, drilling contractor Dalma Energy spud an exploration well at Wavel.

Drilling is expected to last 23 days. Joshi signed PSCs for Dholka and Wavel in 1995.
