Bridge & Roof bids lowest in 3-tank IOC tender

Vol 20, PW 8 (12 Jan 17) News in Brief

Bridge & Roof has bid lowest in IndianOil's tender to set up three oil storage tanks at the 15m t/y Paradip refinery, soon after a similar tender for four tanks was awarded to Tata Projects subsidiary Artson Engineering.

Expect state-owned EPC contractor Bridge & Roof to receive an LoA later this month (January). When IOC opened price bids on December 17, Bridge & Roof bid lowest quoting Rs105cr ($15m) followed by Offshore Infrastructures at Rs123cr ($18m).

Artson received IOC's LoA in December in the four tanks tender after quoting Rs108cr ($16m) when price bids were opened on October 17. Bridge & Roof came second in the four-tank tender quoting Rs136cr ($20m).

Each tank will have a 79.5 metre diameter, a 13.5 metre height and double deck external floating roofs. IOC split up its seven-tank EPC project as it did not want the entire job awarded to one company, risking project delays.

As with Artson in the four-tank project, Bridge & Roof must complete its three tanks within 18 months of the LoA. Bids were submitted for both projects on August 10.
