GK Satish favourite for IndianOil dir. BD post

Vol 19, PW 6 (19 Nov 15) News in Brief

Executive director GK Satish and his experience finalising complex oil and product supply contracts makes him the clear favourite to win the post of director business development at IndianOil.

At least 15 candidates from IndianOil are expected to apply by November 26 to replace D. Sen who retires on August 31 next year (2016).

Interviews are scheduled for February 2016. Satish joined IOC in March 1983 and became an executive director in 2013.

Before heading the gas business he was head of international trade. “Among all the EDs Satish has been ED for the longest," we hear, "and he's trusted by chairman B.

Ashok." Stiff competition is expected from executive director Avinash Verma who like Satish has a mechanical engineering background but became ED only this year (2015).

Verma has nine years of petrochemical marketing experience. Before joining the petrochemicals group he worked for nearly 20 years in the marketing department.
