ONGC plans Rs792cr onland KG drilling

ONGC is planning 72 development wells in line with its Rs792cr ($15m) campaign at its West Godavari and Godavari Onland mining leases.

In a submission to the environmental ministry on June 4, ONGC details plans to drill 56 wells at Godavari Onland PML and 16 wells at West Godavari PML in an effort to enhance production from existing reservoirs and increase the recovery factor from nearby producing oil and gasfields. In East Godavari district, ONGC will drill 12 wells in Mandapeta field, 12 in Kesanapalli West field, eight in Pasarlapudi field, four in South Pasarlapudi field, four in Ravulapalem field,and two each in Koravaka, Geddanapalli, Mukkamala and East Rangapuram fields.

In West Godavari district, ONGC plans six wells at the Bantumilli South field, and two each at the Elamanchili and Suryaraopeta fields. In Krishna district, ONGC plans 12 wells in Malleswaram field and two in Vanadurru South field.

Each well will take about 60-90 days to drill.
