Oil India EoI for $125m seismic tender

Vol 18, PW 12 (12 Feb 15) News in Brief

Seismic contractors are excited that Oil India has invited EoIs to shoot and process 7860-lkm 2D across India's northeast.

On February 6, Oil India issued a notice inviting EoIs to shoot and process 2D data across Manipur, Assam, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Interested companies must send in EoIs by February 20.

"This will be one of the biggest Oil India tenders," says a source. "Assuming rates of $15,000-20,000/lkm, it will be a $125m-130m job.

" Indian contractors Alpha Geo, Asian Oilfield, IOT Energy Services and Quippo-Shiv Vani are expected to send in EoIs. Foreign companies expected to respond include Azimut, Pangea, Geofizyka Torun, Geotech and Geokinetics.

"This will be a complicated assignment," we hear. "Working in the northeast is not easy due to the insurgency and difficult terrain.

" Oil India will issue tenders to pre-qualified contractors in two months. "Oil India will need 13 crews and this job can take up to four years to complete," we hear.
