Petronet-LNG ready for آ‘Open Accessآ’ at Dahej

Vol 8, PW 16 (03 Nov 04) News in Brief

ndia will soon replicate the American concept of open access for re-gassifying LNG cargoes owned by different companies at one single terminal.

PETROWATCH learns several power and fertiliser companies have approached Petronet-LNG for access to its Dahej terminal to regassify their own LNG imports. We dont mind the re-gassifying job at all, Petronet-LNG tells us.

We will do everything for them, right from unloading the cargo to pumping the gas into the pipeline. Indian Oil, NTPC, KRIBHCO and IFFCO have all floated global tenders for LNG and will need Petronet-LNG's services to regassify the fuel.

Gujarat Petroleum and GAIL too are interested in importing LNG. This month Petronet-LNG will begin the expansion process of its 5m t/y Dahej terminal to 10m t/y and also begin construction of its 2.5m t/y Kochi terminal.

We have two separate teams working on both projects simultaneously.
