With Narendra Modi as PM, Gujarat State Petronet is getting bolder and more ready to challenge GAIL as India’s top gas transmission company.

GSPL chairman MM Srivastava inaugurated the company’s new office in Delhi on October 24, covering a swanky 2444-sq feet at Bhikaji Cama Place which used to house GAIL’s headquarters till last year. GSPL has moved out of its old office in the same building which was just 1032 sq-feet.

Also present at the inauguration was GSPL special director AK Vijay Kumar, and the new space was later visited on October 31 by DJ Pandian who was named Gujarat chief secretary the same day. This new office will have 12 GSPL and GSPC staff manning it.

GSPL will use the new office to look after work on an 1881-km gas pipeline from Mallavaram in Andhra Pradesh to Vijaipur in Madhya Pradesh; a 1670-km gas pipeline from Mehsana in Gujarat to Bhatinda in Punjab; and a 740-km gas pipeline from Bhatinda to Srinagar in Kashmir.
