Geofizyka favourite for Oil India 3D job

Vol 17, PW 22 (19 Jun 14) News in Brief

Seismic contractors have until July 22 to submit bids in an Oil India tender for 250-sq km full-fold 3D using Vibroseis equipment at its Tanot-Dandewala field in the Jaisalmer ML in Rajasthan.

“We want to complete the operation four months after mobilising equipment,” reports Oil India. “We'll need around five Vibroseis trucks to complete the job.

” Oil India aims to award the contract by November this year and will give the selected contractor two months to mobilise equipment. Shiv Vani, Geofizyka Torun, AlphaGeo and Azimut Energy are expected to bid.

But one Indian seismic firm says the job is too small to recover the costs of mobilising Vibroseis equipment, giving Polish contractor Geofizyka an edge, as it already has equipment in India and has shot 2D and 3D in the same area (RJ-ONN-2005/2) and worked at other Oil India blocks in Rajasthan. Oil India floated the tender on June 3.
