Hiranandani Energy (H-Energy) is expected to finish evaluating bids to construct its 8m t/y Jaigarh LNG terminal in Maharashtra by May, according to managing director Darshan Hiranandani.

Speaking to PETROWATCH, H-Energy says bids were received end-January from three consortia: China's Huanqui Contracting & Engineering with partner Fernas from Turkey; India’s AFCONs with Spain's Sener Engineering & Construction; and India’s Punj Lloyd with Italy’s Tecnimont. A surprise absentee is South Korea’s Hyundai which did the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for this project.

Hiranandani said the winning consortium will set up all facilities including two 190,000 cubic metre onshore LNG tanks, marine facilities and a regasification unit. “There will be no separate tenders for these components,” he said.

H-Energy’s project management consultant WorleyParsons is evaluating the FEED document prepared by Hyundai.
