Eleven compete for Ennore 'regas' tender

Vol 17, PW 16 (27 Mar 14) News in Brief

IndianOil received at least 11 EoIs by the March 14 deadline for its re-issued tender to build regasification facilities for the 5m t/y Ennore LNG terminal.

Among the bidders were Toyo Engineering (India); Linde India and Germany's Linde AG; Technip KT (India) with France's Technip; CTCI with Cinda Corporation, both from Taiwan; Italy’s Tecnimont with Spain’s Cobra; Italy’s Saipem with India’s L&T; Spain’s Sener with India's AFCONS; Germany’s TGE with Turkey's Fernas; US-based Black & Veatch with Kazakhstan’s KazStroyService; Japan’s MHI with India's Tata Projects; and Japan’s IHI. Still unclear is if Fluor Daniel also bid.

IOC plans to issue a tender in a month. Meanwhile, IOC is in a fix over the project’s storage tank tender.

Last October, IHI and Mitsubishi submitted bids but IHI’s offer contains too many deviations. Yet IHI's disqualification could lead to IOC facing vigilance queries over giving the job to a single bidder.
