ONGC Bassein subsea pipeline tender

Vol 16, PW 23 (13 Jun 13) News in Brief

ONGC has set August 16 as the deadline to receive bids in an estimated $50m tender to lay subsea pipelines at the Bassein and C-26 gasfields under a wider redevelopment programme.

Six companies are expected to bid: Punj Lloyd, Swiber, Essar Projects, Leighton Welspun, Larsen & Toubro and Great Offshore. ONGC began selling bid documents on May 30 and will sell them until June 19.

The selected contractor must lay 11 pipeline segments of various lengths totalling 125.2-km including a tie-in to connect subsea facilities to the production platform. Also envisaged is a new Pipeline End Manifold (PLEM) to facilitate the off-loading of oil and gas.

ONGC wants to complete the project by May 10, 2015. With in-place gas reserves of 11-tcf, Bassein can produce for another 20 years and ONGC wants to raise gas production from 28m to 35m cm/d from 44 wells by mid-2015.

Bassein also produces 8000 b/d oil.
