IndianOil invites Ennore PMC bids

Vol 15, PW 22 (17 May 12) News in Brief

State-owned refiner IndianOil is expected to receive and open technical bids on May 18 from six shortlisted companies bidding for the contract to become Project Management Consultant (PMC) for a proposed 5m t/y LNG terminal at Ennore port in Tamil Nadu.

Foster Wheeler and Engineers India are likely to face stiff competition from Tractebel, which carried out the first ‘quick scan’ study on the Ennore proposal in 2004. IndianOil originally wanted bids submitted by May 7 but postponed this on bidders’ requests.

“We also plan to open price bids as soon as possible,” reports a source “We should award the PMC contract by June.” IndianOil will then invite EPC bids to construct the terminal.

By end-June it also expects to receive a FEED report from consultant Foster Wheeler, hired last October. IOC’s Rs4500cr ($978m) Ennore LNG terminal project is scheduled for completion by March 2016.

IOC first invited EoIs for the PMC contract last December.
