Santosh Gangwar praises Ram Naik's despite being kicked out

Politics certainly makes strange bedfellows.

Take Santosh Gangwar who was unceremoniously dismissed from his position as junior oil minister by his Ram Naik on 25th May. You would be right in expecting Gangwar to nurse a deep-seated grudge against his former boss.

But on 2nd September, we were treated to the spectacle of Gangwar singing Naik's praises in public. The occasion was the Delhi release of a book on Naik's achievements as MP.

Gangwar, to general surprise, was the master of ceremonies at the event. Unusually, current junior oil minister Sumitra Mahajan did not figure among the list of speakers and was spotted amongst the 200-member audience.

Gangwar told his audience that he had learnt a lot from Naik's work culture. Naik was, Gangwar said, very modest about his own background by choosing not to mention that he had once been a newspaper vendor.

Shastri Bhawan gossip is that Gangwar is trying to rebuild bridges with Naik to return to the oil ministry.
