ONGC seismic tenders in early-June

Vol 18, PW 19 (21 May 15) News in Brief

Bidders for ONGC’s upcoming offshore seismic tenders want it to extend the 60-day mobilisation period to 90 days.

Companies argue that after getting the LoA it takes them 75 days to get defence ministry clearances. ONGC is said to be sympathetic to this demand and is likely to issue tenders by early June.

One set of tenders will be to shoot TZ-OBC/OBN 3D between November 2015 and May 2016 across 652-sq km in the KG basin and 1500-sq km in the Tapti-Daman area of the western offshore. A pre-tender meet on May 8 was attended by Geokinetics, SMNG, WesternGeco, Fairfield Nodal, SAExploration and YMG.

Also expect tenders to shoot and process (including broadband processing) 370-sq km conventional 3D in the KG basin and 3915-sq km 3D in the western offshore between October 2015 and May 2016 using a minimum six-streamer survey vessel. A May 14 pre-tender meeting was attended by CGGVeritas, WesternGeco, Dolphin Geophysical, Polarcus and Sovcomflot.
