Next month the Public Enterprises Selection Board will interview 25 shortlisted candidates to select a new Oil India director human resources and business development.

Ashok Anand retires from that post on April 1 next year, and in anticipation the PESB website called for CVs to be submitted by September 29. “These interviews will definitely happen in January,â€‌ says a well-placed source.

“But the exact date is yet to be fixed.â€‌ NK Bharali, general manager human resources and business development, is widely tipped as the top contender to replace Anand.

But Duliajan-based general manager human resources Anjan Hazarika is also seen as a promising contender. Three other promising Oil India candidates are mentioned: KK Nath, PN Barua and S.

Rath. But the rest are from other state-owned and private companies.

Company sources say Bharali is being groomed for the position and was brought to Delhi in January by chairman NM Borah in anticipation of a promotion.
