Vol 13, PW 3 (16 Jul 09) News in Brief

Ahmedabad-based Adani Welspun has put back the bid submission deadline for a blanket 3D survey of its MB-OSN-2005/2 block till July 18.

“The bid submission date was extended at the request of bidders,â€‌ confirms Adani Welspun. “We want to award the contract by late July or early August so the survey can begin after the monsoon.

â€‌ Adani has a five-well commitment at this 1191-sq km block located near the mid and south Tapti fields in the Mumbai Offshore Basin and released its 3D tender in June this year. PGS, Fugro and CGG are among the contractors expected to bid for the contract, which is tentatively valued at between $30m to $35m for a 90-day acquisition programme or $40m for a 120-day programme.

Adani Welspun holds 100% stake in MB-OSN-2005/2, one of the most sought after blocks in NELP-VII, attracting bids from Reliance (alone), ONGC (with Indian Oil), Essar Oil (with US-based Noble Energy) and GSPC (with HPCL and Prize Petroleum).
