Adani ready to award DFR for Mundra

Vol 10, PW 21 (22 Feb 07) News in Brief

Adani Energy might soon not have to worry about getting a slot at Shell or Petronet-LNG’s regassification terminals.

Adani is waiting for an internal report from its marine and port engineers before awarding the Detailed Feasibility Report mandate to a consultant for its proposed LNG terminal at Mundra. “Adani should get the report in the next few days,â€‌ we hear.

Next month Adani Energy officials are expected to meet Gujarat State Petroleum to discuss the formation of a joint venture company to set up the state’s third LNG terminal following the MOU they both signed in January. GSPC has set up a three-member committee within the company for this venture.

“Initially the equity structure will be 50:50,â€‌ reveals a source. “But we will keep room for other partners in the venture.

â€‌ Adani Energy and GSPC are open to the idea of inviting financial institutions or potential LNG suppliers or customers as partners to the venture.
