Vol 2, PW 24 (23 Dec 98) Exploration & Production

Petrowatch learns that Petroconsultants has listed a series of dates on which it will hold presentations to promote Indias New Exploration Licensing Round (NELP).

It is important to note, however, that these dates are provisional and still require the formal approval of Vazhapadi Ramamurthy, Indias Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas. As of Friday, 18 December, that had still not come.

The roadshow is expected to kick-off in Delhi on 25 January with a presentation either at the offices of the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) or Shastri Bhawan, seat of the oil ministry. On 27 January, presentations will be made in London, possibly at St James Hotel, favourite haunt of Indian delegations visiting London.

The following two days (28 and 29 January) are reserved for one-to-one meetings between oil companies and Indian exploration officials. On 1 February, the NELP team will make a presentation in Houston, followed again by two days (2 and 3 February) of one-to-one meetings.

After Houston, the show moves to Calgary where a full-day presentation will be made on 5 February. Oddly, this will be preceded on 4 February by (half) a day of one-to-one meetings.

From Calgary, the road-show moves to Singapore, where it is scheduled to hold its presentation on 10 and 11 February. Petroconsultants has left open an option to hold a presentation in Perth, following Singapore.

This is pending Indian oil ministry approval.
